Animal Facility

  • The GLP certified facility is equipped for small animal experimentation with quarantine, breeding and experimental rooms for rodents and rabbits.
  • Animal experimentation is under the control of the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC), and animal use as per the guidelines of Government of India.
  • The facility is registered under CPCSEA registration number:
    64/PO/RcBi/S/99/CPCSEA for the breeding and experiments on animals under The Committee for the purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
  • DRF is AAALAC accredited lab and certified with OECD GLP, ISO 9001:2015 and registered with DSIR.
  • We maintain a systematic flow of Test Item, Test System, Material & Waste products as per GLP and other regulatory norms.
  • We procure animals (rat, mice, rabbit, guinea pigs, hamster) from reputed vendors and provide Standard pelleted animal feed.
  • The animal facility is a double corridor facility and has control access with automatic double door sterilizing chamber.
  • 4 dedicated veterinarians constantly monitor & supervise the activities in animal facilities.
  • DRF adheres rigorously to its animal welfare policy, which is displayed at the animal facility's entrance. Any DRF employee may submit a written report of an animal welfare issue to the Institutional Official (IO), the Chair of the IAEC, or the Attending Veterinarian through mail, drop box, or suggestion box.
