The DRF’s GLP certified facility is equipped for small animal experimentation with quarantine, breeding and experimental rooms for rodents and rabbits. Animal experimentation is under the control of the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC), DRF and animal use is regulated as per the guidelines of Government of India. The facility is equipped with individually ventilated cages (IVCs) for handling immunocompromised animals besides a well-equipped pathology lab, analytical and microbiology lab and biochemistry & Instrumentation laboratories. There are separate areas for necropsy, archives, test item preparation and formulation. We maintain a systematic flow of Test Item, Test System, Material & Waste products as per GLP norms. The facility has been registered (No 64/PO/br/s/99/CPCSEA) for breeding of and experiments on animals under the Committee for the purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. All environmental controls are as per international norms. Dedicated & trained animal house staff, are constantly provided with in-house training and encouraged to attend workshops to hone their skills.
